This cocktail is excellent for those that are new to brown spirits. St. Germain’s elderflower essence plays well with the slightly bitter and orange flavor notes of Aperol.

Makes 1 cocktail

1 1/2 ounces rye whiskey
3/4 ounce Aperol
1/2 – 3/4 ounce St. Germain (depending upon how sweet you like your cocktail)

Garnish: flaming orange peel

Measure ingredients into a mixing glass. Fill 3/4 full with ice. Stir with a bar spoon until well chilled. Strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a flaming orange peel twist.
